A Client Story: from Tears to Transformation

Transformation from Frustration to Control

I received a text from a client, who was in The 7% Club (turning over more than 2M in sales). It started: ‘Usually I seem to be hit with a tsunami of things to do and issues. But I had the most delightful day today. I feel calm and organised. Who even am I today?’

She’d been so drained of time and energy for some time, spending way too much of her time working in the business every day. Her team were not taking 100% responsibility for their roles – and she was literally overworked and exhausted.

Shifting Roles & People

In order to achieve the outcome of her feeling calm and organised, we had to change her team. We changed roles, some people, reporting lines and structure. My client now has an A-Team. Over time (because this shift does take time!), we also changed her role. This shift lifted her up and out of the operational day-to-day, so she could start to view her business with a more strategic lens, and think more expansively.

Growth Through Acquisition – and Lesson Learned

She did a small acquisition – which I advised her against and gave her the reasons why, but she still thought it would be a positive move for her business. After the fact, she admitted that it probably wasn’t the best acquisition from a strategic perspective, but we moved on!

Learning from that, she has completed another (very strategic) acquisition, and is not only going from strength to strength, but has her sights set on 8 figures in due course. She wants to maintain profitable and manageable growth, with her team at the helm of daily operations.

When she first came to me, she was almost in tears – more from frustration than anything else. Now she is in control, happy, and designing her future business and life.

Shifts in the right direction enable change and positive outcomes.

If something in your business is frustrating you – whether it’s slow growth, your workload, your team, or your progress against where you thought you’d be – maybe it’s time to regroup.

Take time out for a strategy day, and create your own business transformation.
